How to remove spyware doctor from my computer?
By admin | September 4, 2008
I downloaded Spyware Doctor from the Internet last year and even made a contribution for it. It seems to be gumming up my processing time, and I'd like to remove it, but when I go into My Computer and Add/Remove Programs, it stubbornly won't budge and the computer freezes. Any suggestions? Thanks.

How can i get rid of spyware in my computer?
By admin | September 3, 2008
How can i get rid of the spyware in my computer? Someone please suggest a suitable software to remove spyware from my computer.
Here are some free antispyware applications you can try. Download and check for updates then run a full system scan.
SuperAntispyware
http://superantispyware.com/
Spybot S&D (free version requires manual updating)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
AVG AntiSpyware
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5
After you rid yourself of the spyware, you may want to install a free blocker. It requires you to check for and enable updates manually once a week or so. It uses no system resources. It blocks spyware before it installs.
SpywareBlaster (inoculates, not a spyware removal tool)

Ho do the spyware work? Are they need to install on the computer you want to monitor?
By admin | September 2, 2008
Ho do the spyware work? Are they need to install on the computer you want to monitor? Or it can be done from a remote place with the help of e-mails etc?
That type of question should not be asked here. but to put it loosely, "monitoring" software must be installed on a remote computer in order to work, you cannot inject it.

How do I get rid of three adware threats Mcafee security found on my computer?
By admin | September 2, 2008
I pay for Norton security but it didn't find anything. I ran a free scan with Mcafee security and it found three threats. one called Adware-quickbar. Macafee didn't tell me how to get it out of my computer. Help
OK the first thing I would advise you is that if you pay for Norton and it is not catching everything it should then you should immediately look into "why?"
To do this you should ensure that your copy of Norton actually is a complete suite (ie, includes all security tools like Antivirus, Firewall, Antispyware, Anti-adware, etc…).
Next you need to make sure that it is properly configured and completely up-to-date.
Unfortunately many users are disappointed by their product because of one of those reasons I have described. Once you make sure your suite is complete, properly configured, and up to date… it will find the same problems and will allow you to remove them.
As for removal… the scan you did with mcafee online probably only identifies the problems. Some online scanners will also attempt to remove them (like trendmicro.com)
but honestly you should just get your Norton suite in order and you will be fine. If the only thing identified was some adware you are doing pretty good!
Good Luck!

What are the best ways to block all advertising and spyware?
By admin | September 1, 2008
I know about software and firewall solutions, I am more interested in settings and configuration (for example: altering host files, using block lists, blocking scripts and spyware, etc. ) Please share your experiences and wisdom.
You can have great anti-virus. You can have great anti-spyware. You can have great anti-spam software. You can have a great Firewall.
But without a brain, you'd be just like the scarecrow. Your brain is your best defense. Avoid bad websites and e-mail. Close bad websites immediately. Use FireFox to browse safer. Run your Anti-virus and Anti-spyware scans regularly. Keep these tools updated.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

How do I fix my Lavesoft adware remover?
By admin | August 31, 2008
I updated my lavasoft Adware remover and when I click on the icon it either gets up only to crash or doesn't come on at all. How do I fix this so it will work again?
Sounds like Ad-Aware is corrupted, probably a glitch when it downloaded. Click on start, settings, control panel and add/remove programs and find Ad-Aware or Lavasoft and click to remove it. It may not remove if it is corrupted, and if it won't, then download it again.
